| Obverse description | Facing effigy of Saint Peter enthroned in Gothic style, depicted frontally in pontifical vestments with a nimbus, holding a large processional cross-scepter in his right hand and a key in his left, the attributes of his apostolic authority. The figure is set beneath a pointed Gothic canopy or architectural frame, with the composition rendered in bold, high-relief hammered style characteristic of late 14th-century Rhenish coinage. A circular beaded border encloses the central type, with an uncial Latin legend running continuously around the periphery. |
