背面描述 Four heraldic shields arranged symmetrically within a trefoil frame, each bearing the arms of the relevant territories: the lozengy arms of Bavaria-Palatinate prominently at center, flanked by additional dynastic and territorial shields. The composition is rendered in the Gothic hammered style typical of late medieval Rhenish coinage, with the peripheral legend divided across the quadrants of the design.

附加信息

Frederick I of the Palatinate — known as "der Siegreiche," the Victorious — spent much of his reign in near-constant military conflict, including the Bavarian War of Succession and repeated struggles with his own relatives over Wittelsbach territorial claims. Minor silver coinage like this Weißpfennig funded those campaigns indirectly, keeping local exchange functioning across the Rhine Palatinate while heavier silver moved in and out of war chests.

The nearly three-decade production window for this type reflects Frederick's unusually long and stable hold on the electorate after 1451, when he finally consolidated control by forcing his nephew Philip into a disadvantageous settlement at Merzzhausen.
