Reverse description Central field displays the Austrian shield, a horizontally divided escutcheon bearing the arms of the Archduchy of Austria, set within a beaded inner circle. The surrounding uncial Latin legend reads ARCHIDVCIS, referencing the title of Archduke as held by Maximilian I. The die work and flan are consistent with small hammered silver issues of the Tyrolean-Austrian sphere of the early sixteenth century.
