Reverse description The quartered coat of arms of the Principality of Lippe, elaborately rendered and surmounted by a princely crown with flanking mantling, occupies the central field. The shield displays the traditional Lippian rose and other heraldic quarterings in fine detail. A circular Latin legend denoting the denomination and fineness surrounds the arms, with the date 1866 appearing in the lower exergual area. The entire design is enclosed within a dentilated border consistent with the obverse.
