Obverse description Bare-headed bust of Duke Adolph of Nassau in left-facing profile, rendered in high relief with fine detail to the hair and full beard. The engraver's signature F.KORN appears incuse on the truncation of the neck. The circular legend surrounds the effigy along the upper periphery, separated from the rim by a continuous beaded border. The portrait is naturalistic in style, consistent with mid-19th century German numismatic engraving.
