Reverse description The Nassau ducal coat of arms, comprising a quartered shield bearing a crowned lion passant, is displayed centrally and surmounted by a large ducal crown. Two rampant crowned lions serve as heraldic supporters on either side of the shield, which rests upon an ornamental cartouche with scrollwork at the base. The date 1860 appears in the lower field beneath the shield. The circular legend EIN VEREINSTHALER ⦁ XXX EIN PFUND FEIN runs around the periphery, separated by a raised dot, with a fine toothed border encircling the entire design.
