Obverse description Crowned and draped bust of King Charles I facing left, wearing a lace collar and royal robes, within a beaded inner circle. The denomination mark XX (denoting twenty shillings) appears to the right of the effigy in the field. The surrounding legend in Latin reads CAROLVS D G MAG BRIT FRAN ET HIB REX, separated by stops, running between the inner beaded circle and the outer beaded border.
