Obverse description Plain field bearing a single aksara inscription in Brahmi-derived script, attributable to the initial syllable of the ruling king's name, Vanamalavarman. The legend, reading 'Va', is rendered in a bold, archaic character centrally placed on the flan. The coin's surface exhibits heavy green and blue patination consistent with prolonged burial, obscuring fine detail. The flan is irregularly shaped, as typical of hammered copper issues of early medieval Assam.
