Obverse description Obverse depicts a boar standing to the right in profile, rendered in a bold, archaic Italic style characteristic of Central Italian aes grave coinage. The animal is shown with prominent bristled back and sturdy legs, occupying the central field of the irregularly shaped cast bronze flan. The surface displays the typical rough texture associated with heavy cast bronze issues of the Umbrian region. No legend or inscription appears on the obverse. The design is contained within a plain, incuse border consistent with early Roman-period allied coinages.
