Kazakhstan's first-ever issued banknote. The tyin denominations — issued simultaneously with the 1993 tenge series when Kazakhstan introduced its national currency on 15 November 1993 — were almost immediately rendered economically irrelevant by post-Soviet inflation. Harrison & Sons, the long-established British security printer, handled the full introductory series; the contract was placed well before independence formalities were complete, a practical necessity given Kazakhstan had no domestic printing capacity for secure currency.

The tyin notes never circulated meaningfully and were largely set aside by the public from the outset.
