| Obverse description | Central field features a plain cross pattée enclosed within a beaded inner circle. An inner legend reads the ruler's name and titles, while an outer concentric legend separated by a second beaded border carries a religious inscription invoking the name of the Lord. The lettering is rendered in Gothic script typical of 14th-century Rhenish coinage, with stops separating the abbreviated words. The overall design closely follows the Tournois gros prototype established under the French royal coinage. |
