Obverse description Central field features a plain cross within a beaded inner circle, evoking the classic Tours gros tournois design. Two concentric legends surround the cross, separated by a beaded ring, with the outer legend reading the full devotional inscription invoking the name of Jesus Christ. The legends are rendered in Gothic lettering typical of 14th-century German imitations of French royal coinage. The overall layout closely follows the French gros tournois prototype, adapted for local Jülich usage.
