Obverse description The obverse displays a multi-line royal titulature in bold Nasta'liq calligraphic script filling the central field, reading 'al-Sultan ibn al-Sultan Nasir al-Din Shah Qajar' — affirming the shah's dynastic lineage and royal authority. The inscription is rendered in high relief with characteristic fluid strokes of the Persian calligraphic tradition. The central legend is enclosed within a single raised circular border, which is in turn surrounded by a prominent outer ring of raised pellets (beaded border) encircling the entire obverse. The overall design is aniconic, relying entirely on the elegance of the calligraphy as the primary decorative element. The flat field shows the characteristic granular surface texture typical of Qajar gold coinage of this period.
