| Obverse description | The entire field is occupied by a bold, densely interlaced Nasta'liq calligraphic legend in high relief, conveying the royal titulature of Naser al-Din Shah Qajar. The inscription, rendered in a sweeping, curvilinear style characteristic of Qajar court artistry, fills the flan from rim to rim without a separate border, with fine floral and foliate vine motifs serving as decorative infill between the strokes of the script. The lettering is deeply struck and rises prominently above the flat field, creating a dramatic sculptural effect. No portrait or figural imagery is present; the design follows the traditional Islamic calligraphic convention for Qajar gold coinage. |
