Reverse description Central field bears a four-line Arabic legend in elegant Nasta'liq calligraphy reading 'السُّلطان ناصرالدین شاه قاجار' (Sultan Naser al-Din Shah Qajar), enclosed within an ornate beaded oval border. The legend is framed by a wreath composed of laurel branches to the left and oak branches to the right, tied at the base with a decorative ribbon bow. The mint name 'طهران' (Tehran) appears at the very bottom of the design below the wreath tie. The entire design is surrounded by a reeded rim.
