| Obverse description | Facing bust of Nāṣer al-Dīn Shāh Qājār at center, depicted in military uniform adorned with decorations and epaulettes, wearing the distinctive tall Qajar crown (kolāh) surmounted by an elaborate jeweled aigrette. The effigy is rendered in a formal, frontal portrait style characteristic of late Qajar coinage. The AH date ۱۲۹۷ appears divided in the lower field to either side of the bust. The coin is bordered by a beaded inner circle and a reeded outer rim. |
