The cartouche is surrounded by elaborate floral and foliate arabesques with stylized blossoms and vine scrolls filling the field. The entire design is enclosed by a prominent border of large raised beads, characteristic of Qajar hammered coinage. The overall composition reflects the ornate decorative aesthetic of the early nineteenth-century Qajar court style. |
