| Reverse description | The reverse field bears a multi-line calligraphic legend in Nastaliq script naming the mint and date, reading 'Zarb Dar al-Mu'minin Kashan 1236', identifying the place of striking as Kashan, the 'Abode of the Faithful', with the AH date placed in the lower portion of the field. Clusters of decorative pellets are distributed across the field, complementing the flowing script. A sinuous floral or vine motif is visible along the upper margin, adding further ornamental interest. The inscription is contained within a continuous inner circle of beaded border, itself surrounded by a plain raised rim. The composition is characteristic of Qajar hammered gold coinage of the early nineteenth century. |
