| Reverse description | Central field bears an ornate cross with flared terminals, characteristic of the Sforza heraldic tradition, occupying the majority of the irregular flan. The cross divides the field into four quarters, each containing a small decorative element or pellet. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central cross, reading FRANC * SECVNDVS *, identifying the issuer as Francis the Second, Duke of Milan. The overall execution reflects the hammered technique typical of low-denomination Milanese billon coinage of the early sixteenth century. |
