| Beschrijving keerzijde | A bold Latin cross with a T-bar base, centrally placed in the field, consistent with the Byzantine cross potent on step motif as adapted in Lombard tremissis coinage. The cross is surrounded by a degenerate, nonsensical circular legend composed of debased and corrupted Latin letterforms, entirely illegible as meaningful text, typical of late 7th-century barbarian imitative coinage. The die work is rough and irregular, consistent with provincial hammered production. |
