Obverse description Facing bust of the emperor, pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed, depicted in the Byzantine imperial tradition. The effigy is rendered in a stylized, late antique manner characteristic of post-Roman Lombard imitative coinage. The bust is centered within a beaded border, surrounded by a circular Latin legend in degraded lettering. The inscription, though garbled, is derived from imperial Roman prototypes invoking the name of Constans II.
