| Beschrijving keerzijde | A tall, plain long cross occupies the central field, its arms extending nearly to the border, a hallmark design element of this tremissis series. The cross is rendered in a clean, bold style typical of Lombard imitative issues. A circular Latin legend surrounds the cross, reading VIITORIA AVCYST and the mint mark CONOB in the exergue or lower field, imitating the Byzantine Constantinople mint control mark. The reverse composition closely follows Byzantine tremissis prototypes of the mid-to-late 7th century, adapted by Tuscan moneyers. |
