| Obverse description | Central cross pattée within a beaded inner circle, with small pellets or decorative elements in each quarter of the cross. The cross is rendered in a stylized, slightly irregular hammered manner typical of Lombard gold coinage. A circular legend in Latin surrounds the inner beaded border, reading the royal title of Desiderius. The overall composition is characteristic of late Lombard tremisses, retaining Byzantine-influenced cross-type designs. |
