Reverse description A club or thyrsus depicted vertically in the center of the flan, flanked symmetrically by a series of pellets arranged in groups, serving as value marks denoting the denomination of one Treins (one-third As). To the upper left and right of the central device appear partial Etruscan letters forming the civic legend. The composition is sparse and emblematic, consistent with the aes grave tradition of cast and struck Central Italic bronzes of Volaterrae.
