| Obverse description | The field bears a three-line Arabic legend in Naskh script arranged horizontally across the coin. The upper line reads 'Badshah Ghazi', the middle line 'Bahadur Shah', and the lower portion carries the regnal year expressed in Arabic numerals. The inscription acknowledges the Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah II as the nominal suzerain, following the convention maintained by Kutch under British paramountcy. The crude, hand-engraved lettering is characteristic of the locally produced hammered copper coinage of the period. |
