| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a bold Arabic/Urdu inscription in three lines within a rectangular cartouche, reading the honorific title and name of the Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah II (Bahadur Shah Ghazi) accompanied by the regnal year in AH numerals. The legend reads 'Badshah Ghazi / Bahadur Shah / Sanah 126(X)', where the final digit of the Hijri year varies by issue. The script is rendered in a vigorous, cursive Naskh style characteristic of hammered Indian coinage of the mid-19th century. A horizontal rule separates the main legend from the year inscription below. The coin displays an irregular flan with typical die-struck relief of the Kutch princely series. |
