正面描述 King Smpad enthroned facing, seated on a lion-decorated throne, holding a patriarchal cross in his right hand and a fleur-de-lis scepter in his left; the composition is enclosed within a beaded or linear circle in the field. The effigy is rendered in the flat, stylized manner characteristic of Armenian hammered coinage of the late 13th century. The Armenian legend is disposed around the periphery of the field.

附加信息

Smpad served as co-ruler of Cilician Armenia under his brother Hetum II, a arrangement born of dynastic compromise rather than stable governance — the two brothers alternated and contested the throne repeatedly through the 1290s. This coin belongs to the brief window of Smpad's recognized co-regency before Hetum reasserted sole control. Cilician Armenia at this moment was navigating an increasingly untenable position between the Mongol Il-Khanate, to whom they owed nominal vassalage, and the encroaching Mamluk sultanate pressing from the south.

The short emission window makes this a genuinely scarce type within the Armenian tram series.
