| Obverse description | A crowned lion passant to the right, its raised forepaw grasping a tall patriarchal cross that extends to the upper field. The lion is rendered in a stylized heraldic manner characteristic of Cilician Armenian coinage. A circular beaded border separates the central device from the surrounding Armenian-script legend, which reads continuously around the entire periphery of the flan. |
