| Obverse description | Bare-headed effigy of Francesco I, King of the Two Sicilies, facing right, rendered in low relief with naturalistically modelled hair and truncated neck. The portrait occupies the central field, with the circumscribed Latin legend reading FRANC.I.D.G.REGNI VTR.SIC.ET HIER.REX running along the outer border, separated from the effigy by an inner raised rim. The overall style reflects the neoclassical engraving tradition of the Naples Mint under Luigi Arnaud. |
