Obverse description Uniformed bust of Naser al-Din Shah facing slightly three-quarters left, wearing the distinctive tall Qajar karakul cap adorned with an elaborate aigrette jewel and plume at its crest. The Shah is dressed in a high-collared military uniform with epaulettes and a prominent decorative order on his chest. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine European engraving style, attributed to Franz Pechan. The field is smooth and slightly mirrored, while the rim is bordered by a continuous beaded inner border.
