| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a bold nastaliq legend in two registers, giving the royal titulature of Fath-Ali Shah, set against an elaborately engraved floral and foliate background with stylized blossoms and leafy sprays. The inscription is framed by a continuous beaded border following the irregular flan edge. The overall composition is characteristic of Qajar hammered gold coinage, with the calligraphic legend dominating the design field. Floral ornaments fill the interstices between the lines of text, lending the piece a densely decorative quality typical of early nineteenth-century Iranian court art. |
