| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a bold thuluth-script legend arranged in multiple registers within a rectilinear cartouche, reading 'al-Sultan Fath Ali Shah Qajar' (السلطان فتحعلی شاه قاجار), with the AH date 1214 inscribed below in Eastern Arabic numerals. The calligraphy is rendered in a deeply incised, vigorous hammered style characteristic of early Qajar court production. The field surrounding the cartouche is filled with additional script elements and decorative dotting. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border running along the coin's irregular periphery. |
