Obverse description Uniformed bust of Ahmad Shah Qajar facing slightly left, depicted wearing a distinctive astrakhan lambswool crown adorned with a jewelled aigrette and upright plume. The Shah is shown in military dress with a high collar and epaulettes visible on the shoulders. The Arabic numeral date ۱۳۳۷ (AH 1337) is divided across the field, flanking the portrait on either side. The coin is bordered by a uniform beaded inner rim.

Reverse description Central device depicts the Imperial Iranian arms: the Lion and Sun emblem, showing a lion passant guardant holding an upraised sword in its right forepaw, with a radiant sun rising behind its back. Above the lion, the Qajar Imperial crown surmounts the composition. The central device is encircled by a wreath composed of olive branches to the left and oak branches to the right, tied at the base with a ribbon. Below the lion, the Persian denomination legend یک تومان appears in the exergue, and the entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
