| 裏面の説明 | Central field displaying a multi-line Arabic-script inscription in bold nastaliq style, giving the ruler's name and title, enclosed within a plain inner circle. The marginal border features a repeating foliate and arabesque ornamental band consistent with Khoqand Khanate coinage. A hijri year numeral is visible within the central legend area. The flan is irregular in shape, consistent with hand-hammered production methods of the period. |

The Khoqand Khanate sat at a crossroads of the Silk Road in the Fergana Valley, and Muhammad Khudayar Khan's reign was anything but stable — he was deposed and restored to the throne three separate times before Russian forces finally absorbed the khanate in 1876. These tillas circulated during the first of his three reigns, a period of persistent pressure from both Bukhara to the west and the advancing Russian Empire to the north. Khudayar ultimately died in exile in Kabul.
