| Obverse description | Two large Sino-Vietnamese characters rendered in raised relief occupy the central field, reading vertically from top to bottom: 紹治 (Thiệu Trị), the reign title of Emperor Thiệu Trị. The characters are boldly engraved in a formal script style against a plain, slightly convex field. The coin is bordered by a reeded or milled edge forming a continuous serrated rim around the entire circumference. |
