| 正面描述 | Armored half-length bust of Zsigmond Báthori facing three-quarters to the right, wearing elaborately engraved plate armor with gorget and pauldrons, a scepter or baton visible over the left shoulder. The effigy fills the majority of the coin's field in a bold, high-relief hammered style characteristic of late 16th-century Transylvanian coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the bust, divided by small cross and star ornaments, reading SIGISMVNDVS D G TRANSYLVANI. |

Zsigmond Báthori's thalers of 1597–1599 were struck during one of the most chaotic stretches of Transylvanian political history. He abdicated the princedom in 1597, reclaimed it, abdicated again in 1598, and returned once more before finally surrendering power to Rudolf II in 1598 — only to seize it back yet again in 1599. Coins were being minted through all of it.
The KM split between 315.1 and 315.2 reflects die variants documented across the Resch series 223–233, which span the three-year window and show minor legend and armorial differences attributable to the political interruptions in production.
