| Obverse description | Armored bust of Wolfgang William, Count Palatine of the Rhine and Duke of Bavaria, facing right, wearing ornate plate armor with a prominent ruff collar and a fleur-de-lis badge at the chest. The portrait is rendered in high relief in the late Renaissance manner, with detailed chasing on the armored pauldrons. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading the ruler's titles and name divided across the field. The portrait occupies the majority of the coin's flan, with the legend running close to the beaded inner border. |
