| Description de l’avers | Central field displays the quartered arms of Montfort within an ornate shield, surmounted by a decorative plumed helmet with elaborate mantling. The date is divided by the crest at the top of the helmet ornament, with one pair of digits appearing on each side. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition, identifying the issuing count and his territories. The style is characteristic of early sixteenth-century German Renaissance heraldic die-engraving, with bold relief and fine detail in the mantling. |

| Description du revers | A large crowned double-headed imperial eagle occupies the full field, with wings spread and both heads facing outward beneath a single imperial crown. On the breast of the eagle is affixed a large composite shield bearing the arms of the Spanish Netherlands, identifying the overlordship of Emperor Charles V. A circular Latin legend surrounding the eagle names the emperor with his titles. The engraving reflects the standard imperial Reichsadler type employed on German Thaler coinage of the reign of Charles V. |
