| Obverse description | Central shield displaying the combined arms of Salzburg and of Archbishop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau, surmounted by an ecclesiastical hat with pendant tassels, all within a beaded inner circle. The Latin legend, commencing at approximately 2 o'clock, reads for 'Wolfgangus Theodoricus Dei Gratia Archiepiscopus Salisburgensis Apostolicae Sedis Legatus'. The legend is divided below the shield between the abbreviated elements AR and EPS, or rendered as AREPS depending on the die variety (Zöttl#975 vs. Zöttl#976). |
