Reverse description A large, ornate five-fold quartered coat of arms occupying the central field, displaying the heraldic emblems of the United Duchies of Jülich, Kleve, and Berg, supported by elaborate strapwork and cartouche decoration. Three elaborately crested helms are placed above the shield, the central one surmounted by a crown, flanked by two winged and visored tournament helmets bearing mantling. The date 1572 appears at the conclusion of the circumferential Latin legend CHRISTVS SPES VNA SALVTIS, which encircles the entire design.
