Obverse description Draped bust of Duke Wilhelm IV of Saxe-Weimar facing right, wearing elaborately decorated armor with a lace collar visible at the neck, and long curled hair. Two small armorial shields appear in the field to either side of the bust. The circumferential Latin legend reads D . G . WILH - ALBERT . - ERNEST . - FRATRES, identifying the three ruling brothers by name.

Reverse description Two facing draped busts of the co-ruling brothers — Albert and Ernest — positioned vis-à-vis at center, each clad in armor with lace collars, their effigies separated by a small orb symbol above and the mintmaster's initials E and F to either side in the field. Armorial shields of Saxony flank the busts at left and right, while the circumferential Latin legend DVC · SAX - IVL · CLIV . - MONT · etc encircles the design, with the date 1639 appearing at the top of the legend.
