1 Thaler - Sigismund von Schrattenbach type 9

Sigismund von Schrattenbach ruled Salzburg from 1753 until his death in December 1771, and his lengthy tenure produced a substantial thaler coinage across multiple die types. Type 9 spans only 1762–1764 — years shadowed by the final phase of the Seven Years' War, during which Salzburg's carefully maintained neutrality kept its mint productive while neighboring territories were bled dry by military requisitions. The Zöttl reference numbers 2994–2999 indicate at least six documented die combinations within this type alone, and attributing individual pieces correctly requires attention to subtle differences in the archbishop's titles and punctuation stops.
