| Descrizione del rovescio | St. Rupert, patron saint of Salzburg, is depicted seated and facing, holding a crozier, with a small figure of the Madonna and Child positioned to his left. In the lower-left quadrant, the archiepiscopal coat of arms surmounted by a cardinal's hat is displayed. The encircling Latin legend, commencing at approximately 7 o'clock, identifies the saint as Bishop of Salzburg, and the date of issue appears within or alongside the legend. The composition is characteristic of the formal ecclesiastical reverse types employed on Salzburg thalers of this period. |
