| Reverse description | Saint Rupert of Salzburg, patron saint of the archbishopric, depicted seated in three-quarter view, vested in full episcopal regalia including mitre and cope, and holding a barrel of salt — his traditional attribute — in his left hand while raising his right in benediction. To his left stands a tall pedestal surmounted by a statuette of the Virgin and Child. In the lower field rests an elaborate pontifical mitre with dependent infulae, flanked by a decorative ground. The circumferential Latin legend, interrupted by a six-petalled rosette ornament at the top, encircles the scene within a beaded border, with the date 1759 incorporated into the legend. |
