| Obverse description | Central field features the crowned Madonna with a nimbus of stars, holding the Christ child, depicted within a rectangular baroque frame supported on the left by an angel and flanked on the right by the arms of the archbishopric surmounted by a galero. Clouds and radiating rays fill the background field. The motto MONSTRA TE ESSE MATREM, drawn from the ancient Marian hymn Ave Maris Stella, appears above the frame. The outer legend names the issuing archbishop, Sigismund von Schrattenbach, with his full ecclesiastical titles in abbreviated Latin. |
