Below the saint, a cartouche bearing the arms of Osnabrück — a six-spoked wheel — is displayed on an ornamental baroque escutcheon. The circumferential Latin legend runs around the entire periphery of the coin, separated from the central device by a raised border, with the milled edge visible at the rim. |

Above the cityscape, a starfield of scattered multi-pointed stars fills the upper portion of the inner field, surmounted by a scrolled banderole inscribed with the Latin phrase 'occiduo pandunt se sidera caelo'. The circumferential legend, a quotation from Isaiah 58, encircles the entire design and incorporates a chronogram yielding the date 1698, the letters of which are rendered in majuscule to distinguish them from the minuscule text. |
