Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Rudolf II facing right, contained within a beaded inner circle. A round brooch ornaments the shoulder, and a ribbon at the base of the hair terminates above the lower edge of the bust. The date 1603 appears in the exergue beneath the bust, while the imperial legend encircles the beaded border.

Reverse description Composite Habsburg coat of arms surmounted at top center by the Tyrolean eagle, crowned by a fleur-de-lys coronet. The shield is encircled by the collar and pendant fleece of the Order of the Golden Fleece, with the fleece itself interrupting the legend at the bottom and the crown dividing it at the top. The Latin legend commences at approximately 2 o'clock and continues around the periphery.
