正面铭文 RVDOLPHVS II D G // RO IM SE AV GE HV B REX
背面描述 Large quartered heraldic shield bearing the complex arms of the Habsburg dynasty, including the imperial eagle, Hungary, Bohemia, Burgundy, and the Tyrol, surmounted by a crowned helm with elaborate mantling. Decorative cartouche supporters flank the shield on either side. The encircling Latin legend names Rudolf II's titles as Archduke of Austria, Duke of Burgundy, and Count of Tyrol, separated by stops. The coin's milled edge border is visible around the circumference.

附加信息

Rudolf II's court at Prague was a magnet for alchemists, astronomers, and occultists — Tycho Brahe and Kepler both worked under his patronage — but the Hall mint in the Tyrol operated under the authority of the Inner Austrian administration largely independent of that imperial circus. By 1610, Rudolf was losing his grip on the Habsburg lands entirely, having been forced by his brother Matthias to surrender Austria, Hungary, and Moravia following the Bruderstreit, the fraternal power struggle that consumed his final years.

The Hall mint's output for this year is notably thin. Rudolf died in January 1612, and thaler production wound down sharply as his political authority collapsed.
