1 Thaler - Rudolf II Hall

Rudolf II's court had relocated psychologically, if not physically, to Prague by 1610 — the emperor was deep in his obsessive collections of art and curiosities, increasingly detached from governance, and actively being maneuvered out of power by his brother Matthias. The Hall mint in Tyrol continued striking in his name throughout this period of political collapse, producing thalers under authority that Rudolf was visibly losing.

Dav. 3008 is a well-documented type within the EC II sequence, with the Hall mint's output for these late Rudolf years showing consistent die workmanship despite the dynastic turbulence. Rudolf died in January 1612, making 1610 Hall thalers among the final full-production years of his reign.
