| Obverse description | Armoured right-facing bust of Emperor Rudolf II within a beaded inner circle, wearing elaborately decorated plate armour. The Latin legend surrounds the effigy, with the date appearing in the legend above the bust; on certain variants the bust breaks the lower portion of the legend. The portrait is rendered in the high-relief Mannerist style characteristic of the Hall Mint. |
